Help Guide: Modify Job Creation Panel
Overview
The Modify Job Creation Panel feature allows Site Admins to control which fields appear in the job creation form and whether selected fields are mandatory or optional. It is built for administrators who want cleaner forms and policy-aligned data capture, and for authors who create jobs with less unnecessary input. This update also introduces Comment and Production Waiver fields to improve instruction clarity and compliance tracking.
Features
- Configure visibility and requirement rules for Job Name, Start Date, Due Date, and Estimated Time.
- Show or hide Assigned To; related filter is hidden when the field is off.
- Add Comment field for author-to-operator read-only instructions.
- Add Production Waiver field for compliance references, including clickable URL rendering when links are detected.
- Support custom display names with localization for configurable fields.
- Auto-collapse of right-side panel when Start Date, Due Date, and Estimated Time are all disabled.
- System-mandatory fields remain enforced: Job Type, Serial Number, Quantity, and Job ID.
How to Access It
Configuration path: Site Admin > Settings > Job Creation Fields (or Modify Job Creation Panel).
Usage path: Jobs > Create Job (the form reflects configured field behavior).
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
- 1. Sign in with Site Admin permissions.
- 2. Go to Settings and open Job Creation Fields configuration.
- 3. Review each configurable field and decide whether it should be enabled, disabled, mandatory, or optional (based on your site policy).
- 4. Configure Assigned To visibility using the show/hide option.
- 5. Confirm that Comment and Production Waiver fields are enabled if your process needs operator guidance and compliance references.
- 6. Optionally set custom display names and localization labels for better user understanding.
- 7. Save the configuration.
- 8. Open Jobs > Create Job and verify the form behavior matches your settings.
- 9. Test URL entry in Production Waiver to confirm links appear as clickable in Operator view.
- 10. Validate that system-mandatory fields (Job Type, Serial Number, Quantity, Job ID) remain present and required.
Tips
- Do not disable fields without checking downstream reporting needs.
- Avoid making too many fields mandatory unless operationally required; this can slow job creation.
- If Assigned To is hidden, remember its related filter will also be hidden.
- When all date/time fields are disabled, the right-side panel collapses by design—this is expected behavior.
- Use clear custom labels to reduce training confusion across shifts and regions.
- Test Production Waiver links after setup to ensure operators can open references easily.
