We are excited to announce the new release of Mentor v2.14.
This release focuses on improving the organizational capabilities of your work instructions by providing you with enhanced folder options and performance enhancements, as well as resolving key user-reported issues, enabling a smoother and more efficient experience for all Mentor users.
Organize Work Instructions with Enhanced Folder Management
- Multi-tiered Folder Structure: Trainers can now create and manage a multi-level folder hierarchy for work instructions, enhancing organization and ease of access.
- Customizable Details: Each folder can have a unique name and optional description to improve search and categorization.
- Flexible Views: Users can switch between card and table views to better organize and review work instructions.
- Folder Management Capabilities: Trainers can rename, move, and delete folders.
- Seamless Navigation: Work instructions can be moved between folders effortlessly, ensuring a smooth organizational process. Deleted content is restricted to the recycle bin to ensure that no data is lost unintentionally.
Performance Enhancements
- Media Preload Optimization: Media files within work instructions now load on demand for improved performance and user experience.
- Lagging Video Experience: Lagging video issues are resolved by enabling the media upload to stream for an enhanced user experience.
- Performance Improvements: Preview page load times have been reduced and optimized based on customer-reported performance issues.
Known Issues
- Currently a Compressed Embedded GLTF file type is not supported in Mentor.
- Original imported 3D files may have a slight textures and material mismatch.
- Navigating a work instruction out of a folder is currently not supported.
Coming Soon
- New capability to add/replace thumbnail images for standard work instruction cards on Mentor’s homepage.
- Ability to create Procedure Libraries containing specific procedures that can be shared across multiple work instructions.
- Auto-translated user-entered text from English to Spanish with an editable glossary substitution.
