Release Notes - 7th May 2024
We are thrilled to introduce the latest updates in Mentor v2.12, meticulously crafted to enhance your experience and streamline your workflow.
Below, discover the enhancements and fixes incorporated into this version.
Overview
Version 2.12 boasts new capabilities and addresses various bug fixes, as outlined below.
What's New
Trainee and Trainer Communication and Media Sharing
This new comment feature revolutionizes the way trainees and trainers interact within Mentor. Trainees can now upload comments and media directly within any procedure step, making it easier to ask queries, clarify instructions, and improve feedback loops and engagements. This feature facilitates a dynamic, interactive learning environment.
Here’s how it works:
- Trainees have the option to add new comments within steps and respond to existing threads. Trainers, meanwhile, can only respond to comments when notified. Both parties gain access to comment threads on each step.
- The feature also supports the addition of media files within the comments.
- It further allows new and improved comment notifications (Trainer/Trainee)
- The trainers and trainees can also Read/Unread comments and have access to the All-Comments view.

2D Work Instruction Duplication
The addition of the Duplicate Work Instructions option allows the authors to copy an existing work instruction. They can now efficiently manage and reuse content across different Work Instructions without the need to manually recreate or copy information, enhancing productivity and consistency in publishing new content.

Renaming Work Instruction Types
In an effort to improve communication and provide more precise terminology, we have renamed the work instruction types:
- "Basic" Work Instructions are now called "Standard" Work Instructions. These instructions use text and media such as PDFs, images, and the image annotation tool.
- "Advanced" Work Instructions are now called "CAD Enabled" Work Instructions. These instructions incorporate CAD files as input, along with text and media like PDFs, images, along with image annotation tool.
This change aims to enhance clarity in work instructions terminology.
Known Issues
- GLTF, and GLB file formats for importing are not loading up in Studio.
- Textures and material mismatch from the original import file to Studio.
Coming Soon
- Ability to create folders and organize instructions using folder management.
- Improved performance in page loadup time.
