Introduction

These are the latest release notes for CDS Visual Mentor.

Overview

This is version 2.6. This has new capabilities and bug fixes as noted below.

What's New

·      Standard 3D Toolbox

We are excited to announce the latest update to our software, introducing addition of 3D work tools mentioned below which can be added to 3D procedures. The users can now add a tool from the toolbox to show how to use that tool in the step to execute the task. The current list of tools available –

• Ratchet
• Pliers-Needle nose
• Pliers 32
• Pliers 45
• Screwdriver-flat head
• Screw driver - phillips head
• Wrench adjustable
• Wrench
• Utility Knife

·      Add 3D Markups

Now users can instantly add 3D shapes to any 3D procedure in the studio. Users can effortlessly add text, and arrows to enhance and communicate the message within the procedure. Users can also edit or delete 3D markups easily.

·      Full Screen the steps description area in studio for easier editing

With this feature, now the users can expand the procedure step description area to full screen to make step description and edits easily.

·      Rename Tabs and Labels

Now the users can rename the pre-requisite and core procedure tabs in the procedure page to their preferred text. Users can rename this by going to the system settings and change the field text from default text to their preferred text along with multi languages supported out of the box (i.e. French, German, Spanish).

·      Restore deleted procedure and work instructions

With this new feature users can instantly recover and restore the deleted work instruction and procedures. All the work instruction and procedures which are deleted by users are now moved to recycle bin. Users can preview the procedures from recycle bin and can restore or delete them permanently.

·      Assign Procedure to user group

Now the users can assign the procedure to user groups in one go. This provides lot of flexibility to manage user lists and assign the procedure to group.

·      Extend steps description area in 3D Viewer

With this feature, steps description popup in the 3D viewer can be extended in length and width by the user. This makes it easier to view more text in one go without need to scroll. Additionally, users can adjust the font sizes to increase or decrease, improving readability.

·      Web APIs for 3^rd party integrations

With the availability of Web APIs, now the users can integrate the Mentor with their enterprise apps like quality systems, learning management systems, etc.

Enhancements

• Users can add new frame in between existing frames in animation
• For Publishing the procedure for the first time users can select the minor version
• Users can upload multi files under procedure reference documents
• Updated the 3D viewer’s Welcome step with intuitive UI to provide procedure information in main screen
• Updated the 3D viewer’s PPE step with intuitive UI to show all PPE in main screen
• Required configuration for questions in Studio to make it as mandatory question for viewers

Bug Fixes

• While procedure preview the viewpoint now matches with the viewpoint set in studio

Known Issue

• Textures and material mismatch from original import file to Studio rendered
• Thumbnail image are not getting displayed in work instruction page
• GLTF, GLB file formats for importing are not loading up in Studio
